BetterTech + JavaScript (in the form of V8)

As some of you likely guessed, the V8 integration walkthrough was not a one off. I have been growing a pretty healthy appreciation for the JS language and so I put it to the test and started linking it into UE4. This past weekend I sorted out the details of defining objects and linking static methods in that reference those objects, which was far from well documented.

Either way, it is working and committed.

BetterTech development has continued, and I have unearthed a number of very interesting things have come of them. Hopefully I will be able to start talking more openly about the state of things soon.

Changes for Alpha 2

  • Agents need to check in on a regular basis when they don’t have any jobs.
  • Link in V8 with standard placeholder functions
  • Agents need visible meshes
  • Menu – Pause
  • Menu – Settings
  • Menu – Intro

Site & Project Updates

SIERRA MADRE, CA - MAY 29: Spam, the often-ma...

Sometimes I can get pretty hard on myself. This usually occurs when my listing of things I’ve accomplished during that day ceases to be a priority and I just do. I don’t want to necessarily toot the horn of amazing things to never ignore, but being able to look over your shoulder and see a long list of items on your whiteboard that have bright red slashes through them is bloody amazing and keeps my smile nice and wide.

The last week is no exception, since it was finals i had a lot of free time (no, I never study for my finals ever) so i spent the time cleaning up my forum, working on Project: White and doing some other maintenance for the site, such as cleaning up my SQL Backup script.

Assembly And White

This quarter i am taking Assembly, so i have some serious ground being laid in the counting in hex dept. I think it has gone quite well so far this quarter. I am taking a monstrous load but shockingly the added pressure seems to be putting me at ease elsewhere in my life. Which brings us to White!

Yeserday was the inaugural day of the commencement of White. My team of 7+ (I say seven plus because there are many that have shown interest in joining the project) has made me very proud. The LOTG project appears to have finally been shelved, the squad is mute these days, and i can’t blame them. Our project is coming together nicely, almost in spite of the previous debacle. We spent the better part of the last 3 weeks doing nothing but organization (and i don’t think thats done) and documentation. We are going to have a private alpha at the end of the month. Everyone who is interested in taking part please email me, you know where I am!
