school has begun, and this winter quarter I am expanding my math as usual, but also undertaking something I am not quite sure why I dreaded. Java is being added to my arsenal and as with the other languages I have developed I plan to release whatever applications I create. I have only been in class a couple days but I really doubt it will provide me with much of a challenge to be able to cause me the hours of frustration that I spent in the computer lab with my introductory courses.
I have also begun working on my UT3 Packaging utility…
The basic premise is for it to be able to quickly create the directory that contains all of my pieces so I can more rapidly release my mutators and so forth. I have paused development in unreal in order to build this application and got it almost done. It is rather simple currently but can quickly become more useful given the proper feedback from the community.
It scans your src directory for any folders and provides you a listing of their names. From there you are provided with a number of options:
- Do you want to include the source code?
- Do you want to include your Author Information?
- Do you want to include your license information?
- Do you want to increment the version [and a text box to change it]?
- Do you want to compile the PS3 version of this release too?
Currently I only have the source code option working as I am trying to determine how to pull off the author and versioning, probably with the standard format of 1.1.1[.1] through a masked input box but I should have a working copy ready tonight. All I have to do at that point is add in the necessary personalization tweaks to allow it to be released properly.
Wish me luck
